HDR

When it comes to HDR, I am still on the fence. The idea of getting full resolution from a digital camera is something that I can't really resist. On the other hand, it is like having the New York Philharmonic play in monotone, all instruments playing the same notes together with no counterpoint, resulting in a flat performance. HDR is the art of throwing in the kitchen sink.

But that didn't stop me from taking some HDR shots today. It can be unwieldy, and we have all seen HDR pictures that look to sharp and have that rusty look. I tried to avoid that and forged ahead. HDR can be done, but it has to be understated.

For these pictures, I used my Fujifilm X-Pro1 with a polariser mounted on the Fujinon X 14mm lens. The HDR engine was Nik's HDR Efex Pro 2.
